A word from the Chairman

The usefulness of a website comes down to providing a “window” intended to facilitate rapid exchange of information, of images, of ideas and above all to stimulate debate between visitors. Surfers which you are, should therefore find something of interest, and feel the need to return and finally to participate in thisexchange.

The Committee is composed of volunteers, not necessarily specialists in all disciplines, notably concerning the implementation of a website, or the publication of the Echo. Good will does not suffice as we know. That is why the Committee tries to learn, gets help and tries to use these two media in an attractive manner. To increase efficiency the “surfer” should, for his part, participate actively in the process. Thus, he should express himself, give his opinion, suggestions, advice, make known the subjects which interest him and, why not, thank and congratulate. The Committee publishes two or three editions of the Echo each year and updates the website regularly. Comments received since the creation of the Echo in 2010 can be counted on the fingers of one hand. As for the website, the only correspondence concerns the loss of a password! Moreover visits to the website remain infrequent, 2 or 3 per month! You are now more than three hundred to pay your annual subscriptions that is already a lot, even if many former staff members could join us, which they will not delay in so doing! It is therefore principally to you that I address myself in asking you to encourage the Committee to do better in interesting you more. These two vehicles, true links between us all, would s their personality and through that, their success.

Therefore, to encourage you to open discussion, I wonder if “Do you think that a questionnaire concerning these two vehicles, the Echo and the website, would be necessary with a view to assessing the situation and with the results on hand to take appropriate measures?” It’s up to you to reply!

The evolution of NATO and the Coordinated Organisations in a way which is rarely favourable to the staff, retired staff and those insured by Allianz should lead us to strengthen the bonds which bind us. What else but communication and discussion? I’m counting on you.
